Yesterday one of our members joined members of PEACH as they came together to resist and prevent the eviction of a mother and 3 kids by MEARS, a company that owns a lot of temporary accommodation properties in Custom House in Newham.

More than 30 people stood in front of the property and made clear that they wouldn't allow the eviction to happen. MEARS sent someone to change the locks but they soon left when they realised it wasn't going to be possible to carry out the eviction! Renters in Custom House are organised and powerful!
